What BITS is NOT ABOUT….
BITS is not about medical transcription, teaching foreign languages or helping you get a visa!!
BITS, formerly known as the Bureau for Interpretation and Translation Services, does precisely what it stands for and a little more like Documentation, DTP and Printing which then explains why we are “Translations and More”.
What BITS is ABOUT….
Answering this one is as simple as ABC. It’s about people who form BITS – right from the support staff to the translators, the managers and directors. Without these wonderful people, who put in a lot of hard work every day to meet that one impossible deadline, or who welcome a client in distress with the “bring it on” attitude at 21.00 hours, BITS wouldn’t have been BITS.
What is the BITS Diary ABOUT….
Everything and anything happening in the field of languages and translation, anything and everything happening in BITS, anything and everything that the BITS Team feels like expressing – remember it’s all about the people!!!

The translation industry is no longer just about the translators. In today’s times, good Project Managers or an aggressive Sales Team is just as important as the Production Team (translators), and it will be next to impossible to spell success in the absence of either. This fact not only feels good (we are finally getting our due), but also increases our responsibility to make sure that there is no chaos and confusion.
All in all, this could be the mantra to get the translation industry at par with other industries.

The translation industry is no longer just about the translators. In today’s times, good Project Managers or an aggressive Sales Team is just as important as the Production Team (translators), and it will be next to impossible to spell success in the absence of either. The translation industry finally coming of age in India – or at least we are heading towards it
If BITS has witnessed significant changes in the last few years, then this one is definitely one of them. Recent years have seen professionals from various fields leaving behind their “cushy” jobs and opting for translation as a career option in BITS. And not all of them are women – yes men are leaving their “secured jobs” as well. We now have onboard people from all kinds of domains – Banking, Engineering, IT, Insurance, Hotel Management, Production and so on, and there’s one thing that all of them have in common – the courage to do something “off-beat” and more importantly, the urgency to have a profession that allows one to balance both work and home.
And this trend can and is only doing wonders to the translation industry in India. The kind of experience these guys come with is not only impressive, but there’s a lot to learn from this as well. Things are changing and for the better. Be it the technology in use, operations and management or even something like documentation. What’s even more interesting is the parallels that can be drawn between our industry and the others. Vidya, our latest team member and a programmer in her last job, is fascinated by the similarity between the product lifecycle of a translation industry and IT. She not just draws comparison between the two, but also is very analytical and understands the nitty-gritty of the industry thanks to her experience as a senior programmer.
